Antenatal Care:
Its popularly known as prenatal care, and it benefits both the mother and the baby. Regular screening and diagnosis helps in identifying the risk factors that might adversely affect the mother and child.
Prenatal Testing:
Prenatal testing covers a wide range of tests. These tests help in identifying the potential health conditions or chromosomal abnormalities in the foetus.
Postpartum Care:
Postpartum is the period after childbirth. It is the recuperation period after the mentally and physically exhausting period of pregnancy and labour. Regular guidance will help you to recover much faster and in a healthier manner.
Cervical Dysplasia:
Cervical dysplasia is a precancerous condition in which abnormal cell growth occurs on the surface lining of the cervix or endocervical canal, the opening between the uterus and the vagina. It is also called cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN). Strongly associated with sexually transmitted human papillomavirus (HPV) infection.
High Risk Pregnancies:
A high-risk pregnancy is one that threatens the health or life of the mother or her foetus, such as existing health conditions (high blood pressure, diabetes, HIV Positive), overweight and obesity, multiple births and young or old maternal age.
Fibroids:
Though it is still unclear why fibroids develop; they still manage to create havoc in a female body. These non-cancerous tumours often cause severe abdominal pain and heavy periods. Depending on your condition’s severity, we provide proper treatment for fibroids, either by medication or removal of fibroids by non-invasive or minimally invasive procedures.
Menopause:
The majority of women feel that menopause has disrupted their emotional, physical, and mental health. If you visit us with such symptoms, we offer a complete menopause management program. The right treatment can help you maintain quality of life.
Ovarian Cysts:
There can be more than one reason to have an ovarian cyst. However, ovarian cysts in themselves do not amount to any health problems. They are symptoms for many underlying health issues such as PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome). Apart from lifestyle changes, there are several medical treatments available for ovarian cysts, such as laparoscopic ovarian surgery, etc.
Dilation & Curettage:
Dilation and curettage (D&C) is a procedure to remove tissue from inside your uterus. A dilation and curettage is done to diagnose and treat certain uterine conditions — such as heavy bleeding — or to clear the uterine lining after a miscarriage.
Tubal Ligation:
Tubal ligation is a type of female sterilization. The tubal ligation is the permanent method of contraception. In this procedure, the fallopian tubes are ligated (tied-up) to prevent eggs from traveling to the uterus. Because of the process, it is popularly knowns as ‘getting your tubes tied’. It is a simple procedure using a laparoscope, which is a minimally invasive procedure.
Pelvic Floor Disorder:
Pelvic floor dysfunction is the inability to control the pelvic floor muscles. Our pelvic floor consists of a group of muscles and ligaments. Together they act like a sling that supports the organs in our pelvis. If you are experiencing symptoms such as urine leakage, then you could have pelvic floor disorder.
Menstrual Disorders (including painful periods):
Irregularity in your menstrual cycle can be an indicator of a menstrual disorder. There can be a range of reasons for these irregularities.
Cervical Screening:
Cervical Screening is done by having a Pap Smear which should be done once a year to detect any potential cervical cancer threat.
Contraception:
Methods of contraception include oral contraceptive pills, injectables, Intra uterine devices (IUD).
Fertility Treatment:
We provide all the medical services that you need. Our goal is to make our patients happy parents. We strive to make this process easy as possible for couples to have a baby, whether it’s through the use of egg donation, IVF, ICSI or IUI. www.fertilitysa.co.za
STDs and Infections:
Sexually transmitted diseases and infections are serious. Early diagnosis can be treated with simple antibiotics and antivirals. Right treatment not only cures your infection; but also curbs the spread of the infection.
Diagnostic & Surgical Hysteroscopy:
Hysteroscopy allows your Gynaecologist to look inside your uterus to diagnose and treat abnormal bleeding causes. The procedure can be used to correct various uterine conditions, such as removing polyps or fibroids. It is a minimally invasive procedure.
Colposcopy:
A colposcopy is a simple procedure used to look at the cervix, the lower part of the womb at the top of the vagina. It’s often done if cervical screening finds abnormal cells in your cervix.
Ectopic Pregnancy:
Tubal pregnancy or pregnancy outside the uterus is known as ectopic pregnancy. This condition can put the life of a pregnant woman at risk.
Vaginismus:
Vaginismus or commonly known as painful intercourse, is a functional problem that requires treatment. If not treated it will interfere with your quality of life and your intimate relationship.
